Our Community

At Gosberton Academy, we are proud to be at the heart of our community.

Situated in the village of Gosberton, between Boston and Spalding, we believe that our learners' education extends far beyond the school gates. We want every child to understand the community in which they live, feel proud to be part of it and recognise the positive contribution they can make to the lives of others.

Our local area provides valuable opportunities to bring learning to life. Throughout their time at Gosberton Academy, learners have opportunities to explore the village and its surroundings, developing their knowledge of the local area, its history and the people and places that make Gosberton special.

These experiences help our learners to develop a strong sense of belonging, while encouraging them to value and take pride in the community around them.

Our links with the local church are an important part of school life. We use the church for services and end-of-term celebrations, bringing together learners, staff, families and members of the wider community.

These occasions give us the opportunity to reflect, celebrate achievements and come together as a school community. Importantly, they also enable our families to share in these special moments and celebrate alongside their children.

We want our learners to understand that being part of a community also means contributing to it.

Our links with local organisations, including visits to a local care home, provide valuable opportunities for learners to connect with different generations. Through these experiences, children develop empathy, kindness, confidence and an understanding of the positive difference they can make to others.

Whether taking part in a community event, supporting a local cause, visiting somewhere within the village or welcoming members of the community into school, we encourage our learners to play an active role in the world around them.

We want every learner to leave Gosberton Academy understanding that they are part of something bigger than themselves.

Through the relationships we build with families, local organisations and the wider village, we aim to develop young people who are proud of where they come from, respectful of others and ready to make a positive contribution to their community.
