Pets Day

Thank you to all the children who brought in their caged pets today, the children loved learning all about the animals and how to look after them. We read stories to the pets and some of them even listened to some diaries from literacy! We all tried really hard to make sure we had quiet indoor voices so that the pets weren’t scared of being in Tanzania class!

Our Poems Published!

Cuba class had the opportunity to enter an acrostic poem competition. They had to write an acrostic poem all about the themselves. We were sent the news that 5 children in Cuba class had won the competition and that their poems were going to be published in a national poetry book. We were 1 school out of 12 other schools in the whole country to have our poems published. What an amazing achievement!

Young Voices In Concert

What an incredible day! The concert was an unforgettable experience which gave children the chance to collaborate with 4000+ other pupils in the largest school choir concert in the world.

The children were joined by some influential guests including Tony Hadley, The Shires and Ruti (who took part in Young Voices when she was 8 years old and later went on to win The Voice!).

A massive well done to all of the pupils involved in the Young Voices choir. You most certainly made Gosberton Academy proud!

Boston United Football Club

Yesterday Cuba class were lucky enough to have Boston United in to give them a football taster session. The children were learning how to control the ball and shoot through small spaces. Once we had practised shooting through the goals the children then had to make the goal smaller for their partner. The children had a great time and we can’t wait until next week! ⚽️

‘People Who Help Us’

As part of our topic ‘People Who Help Us’ we’ve had a special visitor today! Miss Smith got into her special constable uniform and surprised the children! They were all very shocked that Miss Smith works as a police officer as well as being a teaching assistant.

We all got to explore the equipment that Miss Smith carries with her on her job and wore some of the uniform! Some of us were even handcuffed! This was super fun! The children asked lots of questions, especially asking if she had arrested any ‘bad guys!’. We all discovered today that another good word for ‘bad guy’ is ‘criminal’.

What a fantastic afternoon in Tanzania class.

Thank you to everyone that supported the Christmas Fair.  You helped to raise a total of 🌟£840.59🌟
This is a fantastic amount of money!  Thank you so much for your continued support of the PTFA.

Hockey Team Win League

Another great effort from our school hockey team tonight. After a promotion from league 4 to league 2, the children continued their fine run of form, completing four victories from their four games and going on to win their league for a second consecutive tournament. Well done to all involved and again, a huge thank you to all parents for their continued support.

Cuba Class – Rainforest Topic

Cuba class have had a fantastic week making their art related to the rainforest. We learnt about mixing colours, making tones and how colours show emotion.
We used natural foods like beetroot, coffee, spinach and pomegranate to dye fabric and then printed animals and plants from the rainforest. I’m so impressed with the amazing work they have produced. Well done Cuba👍🏻
