Orienteering Challenge

Children in Portugal and Finland classes had a fantastic morning taking part in an orienteering challenge. Teamwork and resilience was shown to find clues using careful map skills. Two children even found some books during their adventure! Well done to all children involved!

Rainforest Roadshow

On Monday morning, Cuba class attended a Rainforest Roadshow at Wygate Park Academy. We were lucky enough to see and feel different rainforest animals, wear their jewellery and play different instruments they had made using plants and seeds around the rainforest. We learnt about Paragua who was from a tribe in the rainforest, we learnt about his way of life and how he survived in the rainforest. Did you know it would take him three days to walk to the nearest shop? He had to hunt for his food and use the natural resources around him to help him. He even caught piranhas for his dinner and used their teeth as scissors. We learnt lots of different information and we can’t wait to learn more about the rainforest later this week!

Library Club

Library Club

The year 6 librarians held their first Library Club session at lunch time today and it was a huge success!  Many children in Cuba class went along to share stories, talk about their favourite books and relax. The year 6 pupils are looking forward to holding more library club sessions every lunch time (one class per lunch time):

Monday- Finland Class

Tuesday- Cuba Class

Wednesday- Tanzania Class

Thursday- Thailand Class

Friday- Portugal Class

Every pupil is welcome to come along and explore the range of books that the library has to offer!
